Purtenance’s Paradox of Existence EP Out September 12th

Middling Finnish death metal band Purtenance have an four track EP titled Paradox of Existence (sounds like Ripper‘s Experiment of Existence a bit too much?) coming out on September 12th on Spanish underground label Xtreem Music.

The preview track, “In the End Only Death Will Remain”, embedded at the bottom of this article sounds like a more boring, more Autopsy influenced, stale version of Demigod. The riffs are not all-together bad though but do not fit together well at all. I doubt the EP will be decent. I enjoyed listening to “In the End Only Death Will Remain” twice but the track is rather disparate and not very memorable and just makes me want to listen to Bolt Thrower and Demigod – Slumber of Sullen Eyes for the thousandth time instead of the rest of Paradox of Existence.

Legendary Finnish death metal masters Purtenance are back with a new release! It’s a four-song EP entitled Paradox of Existence, and it’s scheduled for international release on September 12th through Xtreem Music!

After returning to a five-piece lineup, Purtenance began to work on new tunes, which were recorded during the first half of 2017, and are now released as an EP that follows their trademarked heavy old-school Finnish death metal for which they’re known since their inception in 1989. Cover artwork was once again made by Chris Moyen, who’s done every Purtenance cover artwork since their debut album, Member of Immortal Damnation, in 1992.

Paradox of Existence will be released on CD format on September 12th via Xtreem Music. The first track from the EP, “In the End Only Death Will Remain,” can be streamed at Xtreem’s official YouTube channel HERE as well as the label’s Soundcloud HERE. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

  1. In the End Only Death Will Remain
  2. Vicious Seeds of Mortality
  3. Paradox of Existence
  4. Nekro Orgy

This might be alright, I like how faggily the Mallrat has to dance around he fact he might like this band, this site is a flaming faggot pit if faggy cocksuckers using shady cutthroat tactics to pin the other against the ground at gunpoint and suck their cock, “I won’t stop sucking until you cum in my mouth faggot, don’t tell anyone it I’ll shoot you while you are taking a shit and jacking off while smelling your own turds.” even the local baristas are hesitant to serve because they know you habitually stare at the make baristas crotches while pinching your nipples and making purring sounds

    1. I don’t like the track but I liked listening to it. It was entertaining but not very good and annoying the second time through when the compositional disparacy of the individual riffs raised their head. Purtenance are not good, they are just imitating their influences. The track is just a bunch of riffs in the styles of their idols strung together, not music.

Sounds like one of the last songs on their first album after being Dark Descentrified. The end even sounded like the Cacophony guys playing over Pungent Stench… what the fuck is this?

“Frankenstein monster death metal”: Disparate parts found in various odd places coarsely stichted together to form a misshapen parody someone hopes will turn alive by generous application of electricity aka production (effects).

Better disassemble again before it turns into a full-blown MetalSucks author …

Second from right might have an issue with his “dumping in the woods” pose. Hope he’s ready for a case of brown leg.

Hope his buddies brought some downy for the stream or wet naps.

Chain wallets and cargo capris… very nice. Gotta have 2 chains yo!!
I always wonder if these folks ever tire of their tattoo sleeves and hot topic attire? Oh well.

      1. Dead meat says:

I’ve been drunk for the last 5 days and I’ve had “Gotta have 2 chains, yo!!” stuck in my head the whole time, usually as the faux conclusion to the train of thought dealing with a serious life topic. E.g.: “I’m 25, my 1st real love left me 2 years ago, and I have no prospects for dating let alone marriage.” Response: “Gotta have 2 chains, yo!!”

P.s. the guy on the left looks like he’s about to give the angriest head ever. Like Angry make up sex

Just stick to the classic album by these guys, Member of Immortal Damnation, from the classic era of death metal. That’s all anyone really needs to hear by these guys.
