Longtime favorite around here Desecresy, who pair old school death metal with melodic but apocalyptic atmospheric styles, has released a single “Rivers of the Nether Realm” from their upcoming seventh full-length album Unveil in the Abyss to be released on April 19 via Xtreem Music.16 Comments
Story by Max Bloodworth
Daniel Maarat was a proscriptor, and he went to no-man’s land looking for the best of metals. He searched for years and years, not finding much that would appease his Blood Gods. After a time, he settled on a slab of cyberspace with more traffic than Toilet Ov Hell, but less traffic than MetalSucks. Within this Hessian Hive, he found a deserted forum with rather nice acoustics. It was here in desolation where Maarat belonged.10 Comments
Desecresy premiered a music video for the third track, “Percussive Necromancy,” off his upcoming excellent fifth album, The Mortal Horizon, which Xtreem Music is releasing on CD August 14th.21 Comments
Middling Finnish death metal band Purtenance have an four track EP titled Paradox of Existence (sounds like Ripper‘s Experiment of Existence a bit too much?) coming out on September 12th on Spanish underground label Xtreem Music.12 Comments
The Mortal Horizon is Desecresy’s first album as a solo project of Tommi Gronqvist’s after vocalist Jarno Nurmi left to focus on Serpent Ascending. Picking up right where Stoic Death left off, The Mortal Horizon is band’s most percussive and violent yet. The album takes after the death metal debut Arches of Entropy but is set into the multi-layered, ritualistic minimalist narratives of Desecresy’s later career.28 Comments

If there’s a pioneer band in the Spanish Death Metal scene, that’s NECROPHILIAC! Emerged in ’88, the band released various demos until ’92 when their classic album “Chaopula – Citadel of Mirrors” was released. After that, the band did split-up and it’s now when, after 6 long years trying to get this release out, Xtreem Music is proud to announce the release of a 2-CD containing this album with all demos, unreleased 7″EP’s and live tracks with unreleased tunes on it.
“Maze of Forking Paths” is a complete collection of the band’s studio & live recordings from ’88 to ’92, all remastered with the best possible sound and a killer booklet full of photos, liner notes, demo covers, lyrics, flyers, etc. This is a mandatory release to understand where the spanish Death Metal scene comes from!
Release date for “Maze of Forking Paths” will be September 1st through Xtreem Music on 2-CD format with limited T-shirts available at the same time. You can visit NECROPHILIAC’s official Facebook here: www.facebook.com/necrophiliacdeathmetal and listen to an advance song on the following links:
