Apparently Facebook, after shutting down my account for suspicion of “impersonation” a decade ago, has now decided to ban our page. The current framework of beliefs by which modern people live is shaking. Eighty years has revealed only the weakness at is core. Sea change is coming.

Following our review, this album disappeared into a flurry of new releases, so I returned to give it a listen. Most will appreciate the classic 1990s guitar tone but the faithfulness to old school while having its own voice is in my view its most attractive trait.

Almost all revolutions begin with the idea that what you have known is wrong, and an alternative exists that although unproven will bring about a better world. The hangup is the word “better” — does it mean pragmatically (short term) better, realistically (long term) better, morally better, more profitable, more individualistic — and this detail bedevils the most adventurous of plans.

Time comes like waves, and your wave bounces off the shore and then heads out to sea while others follow it. You stay on your path, but now there are many more paths, and they may coincide with yours briefly, but you have to pursue your destiny, which is what the underground has done as metal bloats around it.

The remix of The Coming of Chaos addresses production difficulties with a late release by a classic band, but struggles to overcome the hybrid of black metal and speed metal that was in vogue for a couple years but ultimately muddles the amazing composition within this album.

When you start writing about metal, you rapidly find that metal connects to lots of other stuff. Not just by lyrics and imagery but by sound alone, since listening to metal seems to shape consciousness toward viewing reality differently than what The Herd wants: oblivion, free stuff, nudes, and donuts.

For years, our writers have enjoyed not just Zeni Geva but the subsequent outpouring of solo and collaborative works from Kazuyuki “K.K. Null” Kishino, who wrangles operatic emotional conflicts out of pure sound distorted, twisted, echoed, and stretched into plaintive sounds.

It probably ranks as one of the most enjoyable smokes of my life, but it started with primitive origins as many good things do. Some pipe-smokers noted that you could use a pasta press to make cake presses of your favorite tobaccos, so one was acquired and testing commenced.
