Black Sabbath have an upcoming concert film of their last ever show hitting cinemas for one night only this September. The End of the End is coming to about 1500 theaters on September 28th and includes live in the studio footage of Sabbath playing material that they did not cover on their final The End tour. Sadly Bill Ward was not included. Tickets are available here.
Bill Ward, the original and best drummer of Black Sabbath, is selling off all of the old drum kits and gear he no longer plays including over 150 kick drum heads he accumulated over the years. Ward says he only still plays his favorite stuff and is happy to see the rest of it go to drummers or collectors who will actually use or appreciate it.
Iron Maiden are having action figures made of their Eddie the Head mascot for all the man children and comic book guys who loved Iron Maiden as teenagers and want Maiden to be up on that one shelf with all of their Star Wars and WWF merchandise. “The Trooper” Eddie and Eddie from the Killers cover will be available at Super7’s San Francisco’s store from July 1st to 8th to coincide with Iron Maiden’s show in Oakland on July 5th.
Black Sabbath are releasing an upcoming splatter vinyl box set of their entire original first run of albums with Ozzy Osbourne performing vocals. Sound quality does not seem to be the name of the game for The Ten Year War as everyone with any experience listening to LPs on a big boy turntable setup knows that splatter vinyl almost always sounds terrible. Rather The Ten Year War is a collectible for obsessive-compulsive Sabbath maniacs and hipsters who will play and probably ruin the not very high-fidelity splatter discs on some cheap turntable from Amazon or Target.
Angel Witch has release the 1970s demos that they still hold the rights and tapes to for pay as you go digital download on Bandcamp. The renowned New Wave of British Heavy Metal band did this to benefit the survivors of the recent tenement apartment tower fire in London. All of these tracks were on the now out of print Sinister History CD along with contemporary live recordings. Death Metal Underground strongly advises all fans and downloaders to not pay anything or contribute anything to this funding attempt at social justice warring and undermining western nations.
Black Sabbath guitarist and primary composer Tony Iommi let loose in a recent interview that following the band’s final The End tour, they spent three days recording footage for an upcoming live DVD according to Blabbermouth. Hopefully, the DVD will feature better better vocals from Ozzy Osbourne than the recent tour and cover a wider breadth of material than the limited set list of said tour. Hopefully, interviews will provide more insights and golden nuggets than Tony Iommi’s erratic autiobiography.
Necrophobic have an upcoming 7″ single coming out on Century Media August 11th. “Pesta” is the new a-side song while the b-side is a rerecording of a demo track originally from 1990, “Slow Asphyxiation”. The cover sucks but “Pesta” marks the return to the band of The Nocturnal Silence vocalist Anders Strokirk.
Z-list Entombed ripoff Entrails posted the title track “World Inferno” from their upcoming World Inferno album coming out June 16th on Metal Blade Records. Nobody asked for another Entrails album. Entrails albums are shelf-turds meant to take up space from better, more worthy fans. Big metal labels release them to flood the market and prevent others from gaining a foothold in it. Entrails weren’t good enough to make in back in the early 90s and aren’t good enough to make it now. “World Entrails” is rock-structured death ‘n’ roll bull diarrhea just like later Entombed. I would rather eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while sipping a juice box through a straw like a six year old than listen to “World Beater” again.
