Dread Records Suspends Future Releases

Independent and smaller heavy metal labels and suppliers may be beginning to feel the pinch of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Dread Records, a label devoted to re-issuing underground classics on cassette, has notified its fans and customers that although they will continue to ship in stock items available on their website that all upcoming releases have been suspended including a re-release of Demilich-Nespithe.

Animate Records Re-Issues Master Let’s Start A War

Animate Records announced plans to re-release Master Let’s Start a War on a six-panel digipak. Attempting to mix the Master “sound” with a greater heavy metal and sludge sensibility, some of which appeared on Faith is In Season, Let’s start a War might best seen as a transition record for a band trying to find its voice but also portended what would become the later and tighter manifestation of Master.

Xtreem Music to release Sinister’s “Perpetual Damnation” via their “10 Inches of Deathcult” series

Infamous / Ordo Sanguinis Noctis Split Released

In the midst of the coronavirus devastating Italy, melodic Sardinian black metal act Infamous recently released a new track entitled “Forza e Onore” on a split with Ordo Sanguis Noctis entitled Strength and Honour/ Consecration of Mossy Sanctuary. With “Forza e Onore” mastermind S.A. explores familiar melodies with perhaps a greater sense of violence and urgency than those tracks which appeared on the previous full length.

Metal Blade Records Re-Issues Anacrusis Titles Suffering Hour, Reason, Manic Impressions, And Screams and Whispers

Metal Blade Records reissued the first four records from overlooked technical speed metal act Anacrusis during the last quarter of 2019.  Hailing from St. Louis, Anacrusis incorporated crossover elements infused with familiar speed metal tropes, and later added more accessible progressive heavy metal elements while remaining musically astute.
