Trenchant Releases “Yellow Cross Orison” From Upcoming Commandoccult

After Emperor peaked with In The Nightside Eclipse, its side project Zyklon-B got more attention. Like Niden Div 187 and Impaled Nazarene, it offered the punk side of black metal over the heavy metal, soundtrack, ambient, medieval, industrial, and progressive influences, blasting out short songs aimed at disruption and encouraging violence.

Trenchant – Martial Chaos (2018)

Something like war metal happens to your genre when the innovators create a framework and then the herd rushes in to make its own versions of the new music, coincidentally making it sound like everything else since that is the music that panders to herd tastes. “Post-metal” is basically emo, and war metal is the counter-revolution.

The Best Underground Metal Of 2018

The task before a reviewer varies widely. If you want to be a big shot, you need to write about what the labels want, since they are the only source of top-down money coming into the genre. They will then reward your publication with advertising, it will then reward you with a promotion, and eighteen months later, you can ditch it and move up to the big leagues.
